Literally
translated, the Bergsteiger Friedhof means mountain climber’s
graveyard
It is
truly one of the most well kept graveyards in the world; and, as we
understand it, this is the resting place of those locals that have met
their end while climbing or guiding on the Matterhorn. Make no mistake
though, this is no tourist location. Instead we see it as a shrine to
loved ones departed.
